Dexters
we primarily raise Red ADCA Dexters but have a small amount of WDCR Dexters.
Calving Protocol:
Calves are kept with mother for the first 4-5 months of life where in they will be evaluated for potential sales or remaining as breeding stock. bottle calves are only sold to experienced homes.

Calves are exposed to feed within the first week of age to try and promote stronger stomach development.
​
as calves they are fed Cotton seed, oats, beet pulp, producers co op cattle, chubby and biozyme heat/concept aid.
​
upon birth calves navals are dipped in iodine and calf is given a supplemental vitamin gel for newborns.

A bit about genetics:
negative by breeding here means that parents and parents, parents for several generations were tested as negative this means it is not possible to have the unwanted genetics.
the yearly steer:
in 2023 we took 2 steers to be processed the hanging weights were 600 and 586lbs and 2 steers filled 3 freezers.

Our diet :Producers co op beef maker, cotton seed, molasses , beer, oats , 34% cattle cubes and during the summer heat MooreFat. hay available at all times. I do not feed nor recommend Johnsons , Sudan or excessive alfalfa.
